Alape Manufacturing Process:

• Deep Drawing process presses and moulds Alape’s special steel into their basin shapes and a thickness of 1.5mm.
•  Laser cuts precise shapes, dimensions and cut-outs
• Edges are bent and folded
• Basin corners are hand-welded by a craftsmen & edges/seams are carefully ground by hand
• Welding and Grinding robots complete the process with accuracy & precision
• Glaze is made by powdered glass flakes & water (hence Glassed Steel)
• Every sink is hand glazed with 3 layers
• Products are fired and the glaze melts and bonds to the steel to become Glassed Steel
• Strict quality control process assesses the thickness of the 3 glass coats
• Basins are fitted with sound pads to promote optimal acoustics (to avoid sounding metallic or hollow)
